About ICCCES 2027

According to recent reports, it is evident that the state-of-the-art innovations in electronic systems, computing, and communication are interconnected with each other to deploy various smart and automated applications into existence. The intelligent technological incorporation includes embedded systems, multimedia information, artificial intelligence, E - commerce and computer cybersecurity. The challenges faced by many industries like transportation, healthcare, energy, buildings, defense, informatics, and agriculture have been resolved by the recent technologies involved in the electronics, computing, and communication systems. The demonstration of various smart electronic systems, computing, and communication technologies helps to address issues like decision making, problem-solving, energy reservation, and efficiency. The convergence of computing communication and electronic systems produce the latest trends and technology in the Information and Communication Technology [ICT] research field. Therefore this International Conference on Communication, Computing and Electronics Systems (ICCCES) will encourage the researchers to enhance their research knowledge in computational intelligence and incorporate the intelligent communication models into existence. This conference focuses mainly on the research trends in cloud computing, mobile computing, artificial intelligence and advanced electronics systems. The proceeding of the conference will collect the state-of-the-art research works in almost all the areas of automation, VLSI, embedded systems, optical communication, RF communication, microwave engineering, artificial intelligence, deep learning, pattern recognition, communication networks, Internet of Things [IoT], Cyber-Physical Systems [CPS], and healthcare informatics. This conference encourages the researchers to submit research works in almost all the areas of Computing, Communication, and Electronics Systems.

Travel Grant

Travel grants will be provided to selected outstanding research works, specifically to IEEE student members.

About the University

As one of the second-generation universities in Ethiopia, Wolaita Sodo University (WSU) was established in 2007 with the mission to engage in teaching, training, research, and community services. Beginning with an enrolment capacity of 801 students and 16 departments within four faculties or colleges, the university has been engaged in the provision of quality education, program diversification, conducting multi-disciplinary research, and campus expansion.

In recent years, the university has been undertaking various reform schemes in order to cope with and respond to the fast-changing national and international educational dynamics. Being recently differentiated by the MoE as one of Ethiopia's 15 Applied Science Universities, WSU aims to become a technology-driven centre of excellence in agriculture by 2030. In line with this mission, WSU conducts research, offers community services, and engages in advanced multidisciplinary teaching and learning.

WSU now hosts a total of 38565 students and more than 1900 academic staff. On its three campuses (Gandaba campus, Otona campus, and Tercha campus), the university runs 62 undergraduate and 95 graduate programs (10 PhD and 85 Masters) and various specialisations in health sciences. Over 45000 students have graduated from WSU since its establishment. The university delivers courses in regular, evening, weekend, and summer modalities, and the students’ enrolment in all programs has shown an increment and reached over 38,000 in 2024.

WSU involved in divergent mainstreaming research, community services, and technology transfer and has record of significant achievements. So far, the university has published and disseminated 11 proceedings and hosted twelve successive research conferences that point towards sustainable socio-economic development of the country. It also established seven research centres aiming to create a platform for practical teaching and multi-disciplinary research.

The university is led by a president who is assisted by three vice presidents and one chief executive director: the vice president for academic affairs, the vice president for research and technology transfer, the vice president for administration and student services, and the chief executive director of the college of health sciences and medicine (with the rank of vice president).

WSU has established a long-standing collaboration with different national and international partners, working closely on teaching, research, and community services towards its vision. Hence, WSU runs -- collaborative projects (-- international and -- local) involving -- global and -- local partners. The collaborative projects are predominantly financed by countries such as Ireland, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Chain, and global organizations such as the EU, UNDP, and various national partners. In general, WSU has been largely contributing its part to the overall development of the country through teaching, training, research, and community services over the last 17 years.

Vision

Wolaita Sodo University aspires to be technology-driven centre of excellence in Agriculture by 2030.

Mission

WSU is dedicated to produce competent graduates, provide problem solving research outputs, transfer appropriate technologies and deliver demand driven community and consultancy services.
